Back Pain Treatment · Shelton, Connecticut
Back pain
needs a better answer.
Non-surgical care for chronic back pain, herniated discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis and other disc-related problems — with treatment selected around your individual examination findings.
We've got your back
Why your back pain keeps coming back.
Back pain is often treated like a simple muscle problem. But for many people, the source may involve a disc, an irritated nerve, spinal stenosis, degeneration or another underlying condition.
That is one reason temporary symptom relief may not last.
At Connecticut Disc and Laser Therapy Centers, the first step is identifying what may be contributing to the problem. From there, Dr. Dalfino can determine whether a non-surgical treatment plan in our office is appropriate.
Our approach
Understand the problem first.
Then choose the treatment.
We do not assume every case of back pain needs the same therapy. Your history, examination findings and symptoms help determine which treatment — if any — makes the most sense.
Why are we different?
A more focused non-surgical approach.
Many patients come to us after trying rest, physical therapy, medication, injections or other care — or after being told that surgery may be the next step.
Before recommending treatment, Dr. Dalfino performs an evaluation to identify what may be contributing to the pain and whether the technologies in our office fit the case.

Back pain, answered.
What types of back pain do you evaluate?
We evaluate patients with chronic or recurring back pain, including symptoms associated with disc problems, sciatica, degeneration and spinal stenosis. The examination helps determine whether treatment in our office is appropriate.
Do you treat everyone with spinal decompression?
No. Spinal decompression is one option and is not appropriate for every patient. Treatment recommendations depend on your history, symptoms and examination findings.
What if physical therapy or injections did not help?
Prior treatment that did not provide the improvement you hoped for does not automatically mean another conservative approach will or will not help. A new evaluation can help determine whether the technologies in our office are reasonable to consider.
What if surgery has already been recommended?
If you want another opinion before making a decision, we can evaluate your case and explain whether any of our non-surgical options appear appropriate. We do not recommend delaying urgent or medically necessary care.
How quickly should I expect improvement?
Response varies from patient to patient and depends on the condition, severity, health history and treatment plan. No specific timeline or result can be guaranteed.
